What's In and What's Not

Are you a fashionista? The level of our interest in fashions goes up and down at various times in our life. Whether we keep an interest in the very latest trends or not, we all love a nice-looking piece of clothing or a cool accessory. Of course, who can determine what is in and what's not in any current period? It seems that the media is determined to let us know. Of course, that could be dependent on what sponsors they have.

What we wear and what we like or don't like is really entirely dependent on us. Certainly, we all like to look at magazines and watch fashion shows on TV, but some of the things being presented as trendy just wouldn't suit our tastes. We can all be trendsetters. If you try out a new looking and no one notice, then either trying something else or continue to wear that cute little belt or pair of shoes. It's up to you and your budget and wishes.

Fashion designers can suggest what might be good for next season, or what a solid design is. A lot of what's shown on the runway doesn't make it out of the studio. We can all scan the latest trends, see if we like all or part of the outfits, and then adapt it or them to our own tastes. Often, a small adaptation to a designer's piece of clothing will be all that it takes to make it our own. Then, you can truly say that you contributed to the design!

If you are truly a trendsetter and want to keep track of what's just out, or what could become hot in a season or two, then look through fashion magazines, perhaps watch a few fashion shows on TV, or visit them if you are in the area. Look at a few upscale boutiques and see what's on display. What does the salesperson recommend? After you have gathered a few ideas, then you can look at websites, like this one, and adapt designs and make them your own.
